Classic Construction Inc., established in 1992, builds Green, Energy Efficient, and Fortified Concrete Homes. We support and work within the guidelines of the USGBC LEED program and the IBHS Fortified for safer living program.

In 2000 we discovered a better way to build when we started working with Insulated Concrete Forms.

Classic Construction Inc. completed the most energy efficient home in Florida in 2007. This home, located in Orlando, received the USGBC LEED Silver rating earning 72 points, 4 points shy of the Gold rating.

The home was constructed with ICF Walls, Insulated Low E Laminated Windows and Doors, Polyurethane Spray Foam insulation, large overhangs, and a metal roof. This combination provided the energy efficient envelope. Coupled with a dual compressor heat pump, energy star lighting and solar water heater, provided the owners with a remarkably energy efficient structure.

Environmentally friendly Low VOC products, Low Flow Fixtures, Bamboo, Stained Concrete and Cork Flooring completed the Green interior package.

Our homes meet the minimum requirements of the LEED criteria and  based on the owner’s budget may rate much higher. Until 2007, there were no residential guidelines or criteria therefore we followed the LEED commercial guidelines. USGBC has since completed the residential guidelines.

If you are familiar with the Green Building program this is a step up from the old fashioned “frame” or concrete block construction. ICF’s are the Cadillac of the industry.

We are seeing that ICF walls are requested by the home owners for the energy efficiency and the other superior benefits they provide. For most builders that is where it stops! Most builders will use ICF's and not concern themselves with the other aspects of the energy efficiency. They use the same windows, insulation, equipment, etc that they use on their other homes.
